Working With Resistance

Turn friction into fuel and move with clarity.

Jess Chan1 min read

Resistance is information. Before you push through it, read it.

Two kinds of friction

  • Protective resistance says this isn't yours or not yet. It eases when you stop and listen.
  • Growth resistance says this matters and it frightens me. It eases when you begin.

The skill is telling them apart. Protective resistance gets quieter the longer you sit with it. Growth resistance gets louder — because the thing behind it keeps mattering.

The practice

When you hit friction, don't ask how do I push through? Ask what is this protecting? Then choose — with clarity instead of force.
